Royalefam - “Die, Die, My Darling” Edition | Saint Valentine’s Day

As a follow-up to his Year of the Tiger design theme, Singapore sneaker designer SBTG created his Saint Valentine’s Day special edition for the soon to arrive holiday.  Dubbed “Die, Die, My Darling”, the elaborated design could find its origination from a particular B-17F Flying Fortress bomber from World War II - the legendary Memphis Belle.  Also feature the signature Sawtooth nose art, intertwined red gradient camo, bullet hole motifs, and a standout bloody red rose as centerpiece.
Each hand-painted to the exact details with only 16 pairs produced, the “Die, Die, My Darling” Edition - SBTG’s Saint Valentine’s Day Custom Sneakers is currently available for order at SBTG’s Royalefamonline store.

Blu Installation in Bogota

Artist Blu shows off his latest and greatest street piece in the streets of Bogota, Colombia. As witty as ever, both mural sized artworks showcase a socially conscience theme with the drug/death references. Both were put in place for “Memoria Canalla”. Definitely another great installation for one of the more well-respected street artists in the scene

Robin Thicke feat. Jay-Z – Meiple (Me I Play)

This winter season seems nothing short of suprising musical collaborations. On this featured track, soulful crooner Robin Thicke has teamed up with none than Jay Hova himself. The uptempo jam, which will appear on Thicke’s upcoming album “Sex Therapy”, represents a rather experimental but successful venture for both artists. Check out the song here. “Sex Therapy” is due on December 15th.

Yue Minjun “Smile-isms” Exhibition New York Recap

Arario New York recently opened its latest exhibition for internationally renowned contemporary Chinese artist Yue Minjun, entitled Smile-isms. “Smile-isms” featured a new set of 28 original prints, shown for the first time. These prints beautifully illustrate the iconic laughing face and figure of the artist as seen manifested in various states of solitary play and fantastical camaraderie. Yue Minjun’s joyful, smiling figures offer an ironic commentary on the concept of personal freedom and happiness in modern Chinese society. The set of prints were also accompanied by a series of sculptures. For those interested, the show will remain open through January 16th, 2010.
